Malta tips xlendi cliffs view

Gozo is my favourite part of Malta.  The Mediterranean island landscape is stunning, from the unbelievable Sanap Cliffs to the stunning rock formation of Wied-il-Mielah window.

One of the best things about Gozo is, of course, the number of swimming spots, including the beautiful Wied il-Ghasri and the iconic red sands of Ramla Bay.

There’s millennia of Gozo’s history and culture to uncover as well. Whether you’re visiting the ancient capital of Victoria or the megalithic temples at Xaghra, a tour of Gozo will fascinate you.

BEST GOZO TOURS

1. Gozo Tuk Tuk Chauffered Tour w/crossing & return by Yippee Island Hopper boat

Malta tips xlendi cliffs viewMalta tips xlendi cliffs viewMr Flip Flops Included enjoying the view of the cliffs at Xlendi Tower

Tour length: 8 hours

Stars: 5 | Check price and availability

If you want a full-day tour with all your transport sorted for you, this Tuk Tuk tour is for you.

The tour will take care of everything, from your hotel transportation on Malta, to a boat over to Gozo and a delicious lunch.  This is a top choice if you want your whole day to be easy.

When you get to Gozo, you’ll ride across the gorgeous landscape, with the breeze in your hair, and enjoy stops at the key sights. These include the impressive St John the Baptist church and the immense Sanap Cliffs. I love the view from these cliffs, it’s a reminder of the immense power of nature.

Later on you get to visit the beach at Xlendi, where you can see Xlendi Tower, and you’ll also stop for a dip at the turquoise waters of the Wied il-Ghasri inlet. This is one of my favourite places to swim on Gozo. The walk down the steps to get there is steep but worth it.

I found the whole tour fantastic and worth the money! I enjoyed the fact that we moved at the right pace, with stops at some amazing places

This tour covers so much in one day, you’ll have a fabulous mix of nature and culture, as stops at the historic Citadel and Ggantija temples are also included.

2. Kayak Gozo and Comino Awesome Afternoon Adventure

kayak comino islandkayak comino islandA Gozo tour by kayak means you can visit Santa Marija Bay, Comino

Tour length: 3 hours

Stars: 5 | Check price and availability

The tour is for 10 people only, so is a good size.  Guests have pointed out how knowledgeable the local guides are on this Gozo tour, so you’ll love this trip.

One of the most iconic places to visit near Gozo is the small island of Comino, opposite. Home to the sparkling waters of the Blue Lagoon, it can get very crowded. Visiting by kayak means you can see other parts of the island which are much less busy.

I love the small bay of Santa Marija on Comino, the peace and tranquillity, in contrast to the crowds at the Blue Lagoon, is worth the trip alone. You also get to go to San Niklaw bay, a real hidden gem on Comino, and visit the Comino caves, which are great fun.

The kayak tour leaves and returns to Hondoq Bay, which I recommend you also spend some time at. There’s a beautiful blue inlet and cave you can swim up to just around the corner from the main beach.
